How to Make Hot Fudge Brownies in a Slow Cooker

Our YouTube Community voted these brownies the Battle Chocolate Winner, so we created a video of the recipe!

Aunt Lou here.

I took these ah-mazing Crock Pot Hot Fudge Brownies to our small group. I can’t even count how many recipes I have taken to small group…there is one little boy in particular that is a very picky eater. He happened to be sitting at my table when he dug into his brownie. I wanted to do a little victory dance when he took a bite, looked up with big eyes and said with wonder, “Who made this?!” I proudly said that I had and was rewarded with a huge grin and a “This is REALLY good!”

Slow Cooker Recommendation

I used myHamilton Beach Programmable Insulated Slow Cooker for these delicious brownies because I know it cooks very evenly and is so easy to clean up! If you don’t have one yet, (I HIGHLY recommend you order one…it is awesome!) you can use your favorite 5-6 quart slow cooker. If you use a smaller slow cooker, watch your time and it may be harder to get it cooked in the middle without burning the edges because it will be much thicker.

Recommendations if you’re not serving it until the next day? Does it save and reheat well?

I haven’t tried reheating it all at once in the crock pot. However, I have reheated leftovers in the microwave with great success. I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

When adding the chocolate syrup and water is it supposed to be as runny and just poured on top not mixed with the batter?

You are correct Josline! While it cooks, the syrup and water will soak down to the bottom and become a delicious fudge to go with your brownies!

      Enjoy!

      Hi Karen!

I didn’t use paper towels with this recipe, but if you feel more comfortable using paper towels under the lid, I think it would be fine.

      Enjoy!

I made these twice recently! They were rich and yummy. It seemed to work better the second time when I didn’t add water to the chocolate syrup. I’ve tried plain fudge and walnut…both were delicious!

      Hi Marilee!

I have not tried doubling this recipe. I’m afraid doubling it would make it hard for the center to get done and set up. You might try making two batches. Enjoy!

      Hi Donna!

Definitely! I had something else going in my casserole crock at the same time, so I used my trusty Hamilton Beach. 🙂 Make sure you watch it closely the first time since it will be thinner, you might have to adjust the cooking time. Enjoy!
