🙏 Big thank you to Abi Kay and Farmers Weekly for giving me the opportunity to set the record straight on the Societies past and for listening. 🖊️ A super write up that reflects where we have been and how we are moving forward at pace. 🧬 Reaching a point where I feel Limousin and the Society can play a purposeful role within the wider beef industry by partnering with key stakeholders is hugely fulfilling. Upwards and onwards. #sustainableagriculture #britishbeef#greengenes

Lovely article, a bit fluffy but hey that's the era we now all live in. One thing that strikes me though , nothing on taste or market for the product. Easy calving etc etc, where does it fit with restaurants and supermarkets?

Not the only breed society to have issues over breed purity. Well done for facing the problem head on.

IIf you’re buying an A-rated washing machine rather than a C-rated washing machine, you expect to pay a premium. Stephen Arthur, Chair of the Irish Farmers Association Dairy Committee and a #DairyFarmer in Wicklow, used this analogy to explain the unfairness of farmers not being rewarded for their #sustainability efforts.📺 Watch the full May #MilkPriceMonthly episode with Stephen and our CEO, Diarmaid Mac Colgáin, on Agri Insider 👉 🐮 Everyone in #dairy benefits from Concept Dairy™ 🚀 !#DairyIndustry #DairySector #agribusiness #agricultureandfarming

We are witnessing a significant shift in the attitude of large corporations towards regenerative agriculture. More and more, these companies are recognizing the importance of embracing sustainable agricultural practices and are willing to invest in their implementation. However, to achieve a real impact, we must break down the barriers that often exist between regenerative agriculture experts and these corporations. It is essential to establish bridges of collaboration and dialogue so that the expertise and knowledge of these experts can effectively guide both companies and farmers on their journey towards a more sustainable agricultural approach.

🥕 What do we really want from food? How can we make it fairer, healthier and greener? 🥕Last month, our co-founder Hannah Barlow joined our PartnerSue Pritchard from the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission, Marija Rompani, Charlotte Hollins and James Perry at the recent Oxford Farming Conference.📊 78% of Brits think we need to change how we do food. 75% think everyone should be able to afford healthy food. And a whopping 77% believe in having high standards for health and the environment. 📊The panel discussed the role of business in enabling healthy habits, the role of Government intervention in the food system and the huge stake that the public has in this conversation as, quite simply, everyone eats. What's your take on this? The chasm between beef and dairy is being bridged as the two industries fuse in a trend that could be good for beef, dairy, consumers, the marketplace, and maybe the environment. The advent of sex-specific sem*n made a whole lot of dairy cow uteruses available. Meanwhile the beef industry needed calves. The result: beef bulls being bred to dairy calves creating calves intended specifically for the beef trade. This trend is upending the marketplace. Ian Wheal of meat supply chain consultancy Breedr joins Nebraska cattleman and founder of HerdDogg — a cattle biometrics company — Andrew Uden for an explanatory dialogue about Beef-on-Dairy.Listen / subscribe to The Business of Agriculture, brought to you by Pattern Ag and Truterra, LLC. https://lnkd.in/gz7Jqmnc

Thank you to Courtney Scott, PhD, MPH, RD and Food, Farming and Countryside Commission for hosting us last night as part of the ongoing Food Conversation. It was fantastic to share some of Eating Better's perspectives on meat production and a focus on chicken - using some of the great stats from our eternally popular 'We Need to Talk about Chicken' report. Thoughtful questions and observations from those on the call included- How reliable are labels like free range/organic?- Why does organic cost so much more?- What is the cost of the transition to better meat?- How could government support a fair transition for farmers?- Who should pay?Really looking forward to seeing the outputs of this great piece of work. Finally, I was impressed by the skill of the facilitators by hosting a huge meeting anyone could talk at any time which was incredible. A brave decision on trusting people to behave with respect which I am sure will pay back in the quality of input.https://lnkd.in/exA3SCrT

Gambling is on as the game of agriculture has commenced with the last harvest still in stores. Despite erratic rains, tractors are working round the clock and seeds are being sown. The industry has made tall promises on sustainability and food safety, but conscious consumption is still lacking. Nevertheless, we remain committed to meeting raising standards on sustainability and food safety in the farm. Let's welcome our farmers for this season's first training on climate-smart agriculture on 23/9/2023#CSA #RegenerativeAgriculture

FT Food Revolution: A better way to farm fish"Aquaculture, or fish farming, is the fastest growing form of food production in the world. Most fish farming is done in pens out at sea, but that comes with significant environmental problems. High-tech, land-based fish farms are still a niche part of the industry, but that may well change, as scrutiny about the way our seafood is raised intensifies."Oberland Agriscience Inc. and our partners, Sustainable Blue feature in a Financial Times story on the fastest growing form of food production on the planet, and how we can responsibly feed that food source.https://lnkd.in/etRwcBFU
